Market Undecided but Up for January

Last week the market started off in a significant deficit relative to the previous week. It rallied back valiantly before pulling back from it's high. The new year and new administration are producing a somewhat herky-jerky ride- most of the downs seem to be countered with nearly equal and opposite ups; For the the month of January, the "ups" were victorious. The last bar on the monthly chart below is good illustration of this (squatty green bar with longer wicks on the top and bottom). ​
